Job Descriptions/Filling Vacancies/Review NATA History Files
- Executive Board consists of the:
- President, Phil Herrmann
- President Elect, Debbie Kippley
- Past President, Angie Fischer
- Secretary, Christy Kosmicki
- Treasurer, Sr. Margaret Proskovec and Deb Kubic
All were present except Deb Kubic.
Job-descriptions were collectively created for:
The Administration/Supervision Division Representative, Higher Education Division Representative, and Educational Service Unit Representatives to be presented to the NATA Board this afternoon. The following job-descriptions still need to be produced: Webmaster, Newsletter Editor, YAM Co-Directors, Fall Conference Chairman, Museum Rep, Awards Chairman, K-12 Art Educators Representative, Elementary Division Representative, Middle Level Representative, Secondary Representative and Membership Chairman.
Christine Brown gave a short presentation on her success at compiling our state art educators list across NE. She organized information for each ESU Area Rep in a printed form and will make them available to each Rep via a CD. In the middle of creating this information, she discovered that we have some overlap in reference to art educators and their affiliation to Educational Service Units. Christine also created a massive listserv which is going to become a great advocacy and networking tool for NATA. There is still much work to do in updating our network of art educators and maintaining the listserv to expand communication throughout the state. The Executive Board decided to create a new NATA Board Position with the approval of the NATA Board this afternoon. The position would be titled Communications Director and Art ListServ Moderator. The Board generated a draft of the job-description to present to the full board meeting as well.
Some discussion of possible NATA Board replacements began at the end of the meeting and will be continued at the Summer Board meeting this afternoon. Phil will try to fill the vacancies this summer.
The Executive Board did not have time to discuss the history of NATA by discussing what is included in the NATA files. We need to plan a time another separate Executive Board meeting to tackle this project and decide what materials need to be archived on the NATA web site.
The Executive Board continued working through lunch, right up to the NATA Summer Board Meeting which began around 1:00.
